Production Manager – Air Vent

Summary

The Production Manager is responsible for managing production teams and processes to ensure products are made efficiently, safely, and to quality standards. This role oversees day-to-day operations, drives results, and leads continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring safety, quality, and equipment maintenance are prioritised.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitors and drives company KPIs and metrics to ensure high efficiency and productivity.
  • Oversees the production process to ensure delivery of high-quality products that meet customers' needs.
  • Ensures appropriate production rate to reduce delivery delays.
  • Collaborates with multiple departments to identify and resolve quality concerns.
  • Identifies any bottlenecks or delays in production and ensures necessary labor, materials, and resources are available to relieve them.
  • Develops and implements procedures to train employees in the safe and efficient operation of all assembly equipment.
  • Creates and adjusts daily production schedules on molding machines.
  • Uses production planning and scheduling to limit material shortages.
  • Ensures production machinery complies with safety standards.
  • Collaborates with maintenance staff to manage planned downtime and equipment servicing.
  • Trains personnel on injection molding machines to maintain high efficiency, including instruction on auxiliary equipment and part processing adjustments.
  • Drives safety culture toward zero injuries and increased hazard awareness.
  • Manages compliance to corporate safety programs for all manufacturing personnel.
  • Conducts daily safety toolbox meetings and trains leaders to conduct effective toolbox talks.
  • Investigates safety incidents, near misses, and completes appropriate reports and alerts.
  • Monitors and drives continuous improvement activities and processes.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Secondary Accountabilities
  • Performs plant management duties in the absence of the Plant Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Oversees day-to-day workflow of production staff.
  • Enforces timekeeping requirements for production staff.
  • Conducts timely and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Manages disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of operations management (plastics preferred) and leading others in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience with injection molding.
  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred.

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing and walking on the manufacturing floor.

Work Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to manufacturing equipment and machinery, forklifts, and pallets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme hot and cold weather conditions. Personal protective equipment is required in all areas of the production plant.
