Outreach Minister Orrville Christian Church

Overview

We’re looking for an engaging leader to spearhead spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every corner of our community. This leadership role empowers the church to carry out the Great Commission and equips the congregation to reach out to the local community. The Outreach Minister role encompasses all aspects of connecting to the community in a relevant and engaging way—marketing, advertising, special events, school partnerships, and relationships with community organizations.

• This person needs to be passionate about helping others take their next step closer to Jesus. This includes our church family, as well as those who don’t currently have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Effective communication of all types.
• Skilled with digital tools (PC/Mac, CCB, Microsoft 365 suite, Constant Contact, Text In Church, social media, etc.) or have a willingness to learn.
• Ability to lead and work independently while maintaining alignment with other ministry goals within the church.
• Driven by continuous improvement
• Flexible and responsive to the evolving needs of ministry
• A heart for the last, the least, and the lost.

• Create, implement and maintain a winning strategy for community engagement. We want to reach every corner of our community
• Church connection through small groups, classes and volunteer opportunities
• Events which create connection opportunities and clear pathways toward a relationship with Jesus
• Guest hospitality and pathways to connection, involvement, baptism and membership for new guests
• Communications to church members as well as the external community. Strong partnership with our communications team
• Foster a culture of connection, involvement, and belonging

• Occasional preaching on Sunday mornings
• Assist with pastoral care as needed
• Other duties as assigned

• Be loyal to the vision and staff of OCC, and always protect the unity of the church
• Regular attendance of OCC worship services
• Invest in and invite the lost to know Jesus and His church
