WDVA Licensed Practical Nurse 2 – Evening Shift – Full‑Time – Non‑Permanent – Washington Soldiers Home
Role:
Licensed Practical Nurse 2 at the Washington Soldiers Home in Orting, Washington. Shift: 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Thursday through Monday. This full‑time non‑permanent position supports resident care for veterans.
- Evening Shift: 2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.
- Days:
Thursday through Monday
- Within assigned pay range up to Step L;
Step M is not published. - Supplement Basic Shift Premium: $1.00 per hour for 24/7 facilities (expires 6/29/2027).
- Administer medications and treatments for a wing of residents or monitor self‑administered medications.
- Process physician orders and assist with routine rehabilitative and maintenance care.
- Prepare, carry out, evaluate, record, and revise treatment and interdisciplinary care plans based on observations.
- Facilitate care per Nursing Care regulations, facility policies, and procedures.
- Accurately obtain and record vital signs, intake and output, and other resident data.
- Perform duties as charge nurse in the absence of the RN2.

- Current Washington state registered nurse license or unencumbered registered nurse multistate license.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Long‑term care experience.
- Pass DSHS BCCU Background Check before service commencement and every 2 years.
- Annual Tuberculin Screening per DVA policy.
- Medical evaluation, fit testing, respiratory protection training and use.
- Lift up to 60 lbs and reach a minimum of 36 ".
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance; willing to work as needed.
- Compliance with all DVA policies and collective bargaining agreements.
- Sign confidentiality statement; maintain valid LPN license.
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license for travel positions.
- Work authorization not requiring sponsorship.
- Letter of interest describing specific qualifications.
- Current resume detailing applicable experience and education.
Finalists will be asked to provide at least three professional references.
