Purpose: Assist in preparing and serving meals, clean up, and related food service duties as required.
Qualifications
- Valid drivers’ license/reliable transportation.
- Previous school experience in quantity cooking preferred.
- Ability to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lb).
- Ability to stoop and climb as necessary.
- Experience in handling money and operating a cash register.
- Ability to relate to students, staff and parents.
- Ability to operate computers and copiers.
- Possess current food handlers card.
Education/
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Performance,
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs a variety of duties in the preparation of, serving, transporting, and cleaning up after meals.
- Cashier meals/snack bar.
- May be required to prepare food service receipts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Substitute Rate: $21.48
Licenses/Special Requirements:
- Fingerprinting and background check to determine that there have been no convictions involving physical molestation, abuse, injury or neglect of a minor.
- Must complete Safe Schools trainings and adhere to district infection control plan.
- WA State Food Worker Card (obtain through the WA State Department of Health)
- May be required to obtain first aid and CPR certification
Benefits:
For on-call positions, eligibility for benefits is determined by factors including the number of hours worked during the last two school years. Some on-call positions may not be benefit eligible. Benefits are administered through the Payroll Department. Contact the Payroll Department at x4029 or x4046 for more information. Regular employees who are anticipated to work 630 hours or more in a year are eligible for the following benefits: medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, long-term disability and the employee assistance program.
The district’s healthcare benefits are administered by the Washington State Healthcare Authority under SEBB. Benefit eligible employees may also participate in deferred compensation/403B plans, dependent care flexible spending/health savings accounts, and additional life insurance and/or added long-term disability coverage. Sick leave, vacation, personal leave, and any paid holidays are aligned with bargaining agreements by association, as listed on our website.
Other benefits include VEBA, a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA).
