Job Summary
The Plastic Dip Mold Set-Up Technician is responsible for the full mechanical set-up, operation, and monitoring of plastic dip-molding related equipment. This role involves equipment adjustments, cycle verification, quality compliance, and productivity performance.
Compensation & Shift DetailsSalary range: $19.00–$22.00 per hour, with an additional $2.00 per hour shift differential for second shift. We are currently seeking Set-Up Technicians for both first and second shifts.
Shift Schedules- 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday, 6:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.;
Friday, 6:30 a.m.–10:30 a.m. - 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:45 p.m.–2:15 a.m.
- Perform mechanical set-up of plastic dip-molding equipment set-up.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues related to molds, racks, ovens, airflow, and equipment performance.
- Conduct part measurements using calipers and other measurement devices to maintain quality standards.
- Identify and report nonconforming product, mechanical defects, or equipment malfunctions.
- Ability to read, understand, and adhere to process specifications.
- Complete all production and quality documentation accurately and on time while ensuring materials, tools, labels, and finished product are properly staged, handled, and organized.
- Provide on-the-job training, instruction, leadership and support to new employees while also offering break coverage for team members and maintaining smooth production flow.
- Support continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and 5S while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Must consistently demonstrate a strong work ethic, including initiative, accountability, and a commitment to high-quality performance.
- Must demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production flow and team coordination.
- Experience reading blueprints, production schedules, and technical instructions.
- Competent in using calipers, gauges, and basic math (including decimals and measurements).
- Experience with ERP System Entry
- Ability to perform mechanical setups and adjustments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability.
- Effective multitasking and situational prioritization.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with supervisors and teammates.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to stand, reach, bend, twist, squat, push, pull, and climb throughout the shift.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a shared workspace.
- Work areas may experience occasional temperature changes (warm, cool, or humid).
- Some tasks may involve mild exposure to chemicals or fumes, with all necessary protective equipment provided.
- Noise levels are typically low to moderate, and hearing protection is required and provided.
