Accounting Clerk Accounts Payable Receivable

Support accounting operations at Durham Children’s Aid Society using accounts payable, receivable, Excel, and accurate data entry. Most positions may be eligible for hybrid work under policy.

This temporary Accounting Clerk assignment runs until June 30, 2027, within CUPE Local 3223. The position supports financial and administrative processing for the Society, serving children, youth, and families in Durham Region. You will handle accounting records, applications, reconciliations, deposits, and journal entries.

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Input computer data using accurate keyboarding skills
• Reconcile petty cash and vendor statements
• Prepare Children’s Special Allowance and GST rebate applications
• Complete bank deposits and produce journal entries

• High school diploma focused on accounting or bookkeeping
• At least one year of accounting or bookkeeping experience
• Working knowledge of Excel and data entry experience
• Basic knowledge of word processing programs
• Successful background check and proof of education
