Serve as a crucial support in the courtroom as a Court Clerk with the Region of Waterloo. This full-time role entails assisting Justices of the Peace and maintaining accurate court records in a professional setting.
In this role, you will act as a liaison for the presiding Justice of the Peace, ensuring smooth court proceedings and accurate documentation. Key responsibilities include officiating in the absence of a JOP and managing court records in the Integrated Court Offences Network (ICON). The position is well-suited for individuals with strong organizational skills and a background in legal administration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as Clerk of the Court during sessions
• Prepare and maintain courtroom documentation
• Operate digital recording equipment for proceedings
• Ensure accuracy of court orders and records
• Coordinate with Judiciary and court staff for operations
Requirements:
• 2-year diploma in law or related program
• 2 years of courtroom experience required
• Certification as a transcriptionist preferred
• Proficiency in legal procedures and terminology
• Strong communication and analytical skills
