Civil Concrete Construction Manager

Lead reinforced concrete construction for Aecon’s Darlington New Nuclear Project, coordinating field execution, engineering, quality, safety, scheduling and turnover.

This Civil Construction Manager – Concrete oversees major civil and structural concrete activities in a nuclear construction environment. The work covers foundations, slabs, walls, equipment foundations and other structures. Success requires construction planning, subcontractor management, drawing review and multidisciplinary coordination.

• Lead civil and structural concrete construction planning and execution
• Coordinate formwork, reinforcing steel, embeds, placement, curing and testing
• Resolve technical issues with Engineering and Quality teams
• Manage subcontractors, schedules, manpower, equipment and material availability
• Support inspections, turnover, close-out and construction documentation

• Post-secondary education or equivalent relevant construction experience
• Significant large-scale civil and structural concrete management experience
• Knowledge of reinforced concrete, formwork, rebar and concrete testing
• Previous nuclear construction project experience
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills
