Responsibilities
Reporting to the Provost and Vice‑President, Academic, the Dean serves as the Chief Academic Officer of the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities (FSSH) and will champion innovative programs, research, and impact. The Dean will bolster student enrollment, provide exceptional learning experiences, support faculty and staff growth, and build strong internal and external partnerships to elevate FSSH’s profile locally, nationally, and internationally.

Qualifications

Doctorate and eligibility for appointment at the rank of Full Professor.

Distinguished record of scholarly achievement and academic leadership within the social sciences and/or humanities.

Substantial experience in program development, strategic enrollment management, and financial stewardship.

Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire research success.

Deep commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, reconciliation, accessibility, and social justice.

Exceptional communication and relationship‑building skills across internal and external stakeholders.

Proven capacity to lead through change, inspire shared purpose, and foster a supportive, high‑performing academic culture.

Vision for undergraduate enrollment growth while advancing research impact and maintaining excellence in teaching and learning.
