Position Overview
We invite applications for a tenure‑track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Comparative and International Education. The appointment will begin on January 1 2026 – July 1 2026 (start date to be negotiated). Applicants must hold a PhD (or equivalent) in Comparative and International Education by the start of the appointment.

Responsibilities
Expectations include:

Contribute to the research culture by developing an active research program that attracts research funding and cultivates learning and training opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students.

Teach on‑campus and online courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Participate in committee membership as part of service commitments.

Follow a 40% research, 40% teaching, and 20% service workload each year.

Ideal Candidate
Candidate should have strong quantitative and/or mixed methods research skills and a record of peer‑reviewed publications. Specific interests may include:

Emerging modalities of international cooperation, including roles of multilateral organisations (OECD, UNESCO, World Bank) and bilateral agencies (USAID, FCDO).

Public–private partnerships and results‑based financing mechanisms.

Equity‑oriented approaches to internationalisation and educational transformation.

Structural inequalities within the architecture of international cooperation.

Global norm‑setting and its influence on national educational policies and practices.

Ethically grounded transnational partnerships in higher education.

The impact of international large‑scale student assessments (PISA, TIMSS, regional/national instruments).

Qualifications

PhD (or equivalent) in Comparative and International Education.

Strong academic background and established record of excellence in scholarly research.

Potential for outstanding teaching contributions.

Excellent English language skills.

Applied research experience working with partners in the Global South.

Research skills in qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed methods.

Emerging record of peer‑reviewed publications in significant journals.

History of successful research funding commensurate with career stage.

Demonstrated potential for exemplary teaching and graduate supervision.

Commitment to equitable, diverse, and inclusive interdisciplinary research partnerships and community engagement.

Commitment to knowledge mobilisation via conferences, publications, and other activities.

Lived experience relevant to the role (e.g., researching/teaching in international contexts).
