Position: PERMANENT: 0.5 FTE/ (Sem 2-full days) I/S English + Indigenous Studies (spec ed an asset)
Location: Whitby

Key Responsibilities   Create engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and support student learning.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to help students grow.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to enhance student learning.
Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
Qualifications   Required subject qualifications: I/S English + Indigenous Studies (Spec Ed an asset).
Ontario teaching certificate (OCT) in good standing.
FTE: 0.5.
Grade(s)/assignment: 9-12 (Sem 2-full days).
Secondary Permanent Salary Range: $57,986 to $119,967 per year (pro-rated for FTE).
Placement on salary grid based on QECO rating and teaching experience.
Hiring Process   First consideration:
Teachers covered by the OSSTF Permanent Teachers’ Collective Agreement who possess the required qualifications.
Second consideration:
Candidates from outside the OSSTF permanent bargaining unit.
Additional Requirements   Provide a current Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening upon hire.
