Join the Durham District School Board as a Special Education Teacher, supporting a Grade 7/8 Homeroom to foster inclusive learning. This 0.8 FTE position offers a unique blend of curriculum delivery, student assessment, and collaborative initiatives.
You will contribute to the educational growth of students while maintaining a focus on engagement and inclusivity within the classroom. Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement lessons that adhere to curriculum guidelines
• Monitor and assess student achievement and behavior
• Cultivate a welcoming and supportive learning environment
• Work with parents and staff to enhance educational outcomes
• Customize teaching approaches for diverse learning challenges
Requirements:
• Ontario teaching certificate (OCT) in good standing
•
Required qualifications:
Intermediate Division;
Special Ed Part 1
• Proven experience with middle school students
• Background Check with vulnerable sector screening
• Advocacy for equity and inclusion educational practices
