Position: Full-Time French Immersion Teacher LTO
Location: Whitby

St. Mark the Evangelist CS is hiring a full-time, Grade 1 French Immersion teacher for a long-term opportunity. Start date is September 2, 2026, allowing for impactful teaching experiences.

This position is a 1.0 FTE LTO, designed to fill a temporary vacancy. Candidates should possess a valid Ontario College of Teachers certification, Primary Basic Qualifications, and a Part 1 qualification in French as a Second Language. Emphasis on creating an inclusive classroom aligns with DCDSB’s mission of supporting diverse student needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging Grade 1 French Immersion lessons

• Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom atmosphere

• Monitor and assess student learning outcomes

• Work with colleagues on integrated lesson plans

• Involve in school and community development initiatives

Requirements:

• Ontario College of Teachers certification in good standing

• Basic qualifications for primary teaching

• French as a Second Language, Part 1 certification

• Fluency in French at a native-like level

• Commitment to promoting diversity in education
