Location: Whitby
DCDSB is hiring a full-time English and Visual Arts teacher for the academic year. This role involves teaching NBE3U, ENL1W, and AVI3M/4M courses.
The 1.0 FTE position is a temporary assignment effective from September 2, 2026, to June 30, 2027, subject to the return of the current teacher. As an applicant, you must hold certification from the Ontario College of Teachers and possess Intermediate/Senior Basic Qualifications. Subject qualifications for the relevant courses are also essential for eligibility.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach NBE3U, ENL1W, and AVI3M/4M courses
• Foster an inclusive learning environment
• Evaluate and assess student performance
• Collaborate with staff for curriculum development
• Engage with parents and the community for student success
Requirements:
• Certification from Ontario College of Teachers
• Intermediate/Senior Basic Qualifications
• Subject qualifications relevant to assigned courses
• Commitment to diversity and inclusion in education
• Experience in public school teaching is an asset
