High School Math & Science Teacher/Tutor

Part‑time position at Oxford Learning Whitby. Motivated by mathematics? Sharp with science? Excited by equations in both fields? Eager to help students succeed in math and science? This role provides valuable teaching experience in a supportive learning environment.

Location: Whitby, Ontario

Employment Type: Part‑time

Pay: $17.20 – $18.00 per hour

Schedule: After‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) Monday‑Friday, and Saturdays (9:00 am – 1:00 pm). Commitment until the end of the term (June) preferred; summer continuation is a plus.

All teacher‑tutors work during the above hours and Saturdays. The role is in‑person; applicants must be able to commute to Whitby. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
• Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
• Teaching certification is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of Grades 9–12 math and science curricula, including Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

• Experience teaching/tutoring math at Grades 9–12 (or equivalent).
• Strong written and oral communication in English.
• Strong math skills and ability to guide student understanding.
• Ability to multitask and manage up to three students simultaneously.

• Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
• Teach both online and in‑person.
• Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Fill in post‑lesson notes.
• Complete daily student communication updates.
• Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Applicants must reside in or within a short commute of the Whitby area. Relocation packages are not available.
