Location: Whitby
Shape the futures of young learners as a Long Term Occasional Teacher for Grade 1 and 2 with the Durham District School Board. This role invites you to cultivate engaging lessons and nurture a love for learning in a supportive environment.
As a part of DDSB, you'll teach Grade 1/2 students in a welcoming space that embraces diversity. Your responsibilities will include lesson development, student progress assessment, and collaboration with parents and the community. You'll also adapt your teaching techniques to meet varied learning needs, ensuring that every student feels included.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop creative and engaging lesson plans aligned with the curriculum
• Monitor and assess student progress while providing constructive feedback
• Foster a positive classroom atmosphere that values all students
• Collaborate closely with staff, parents, and community partners
• Adjust teaching methods to cater to diverse student requirements
Requirements:
• Ontario teaching certificate (OCT) in good standing
• Expertise in Primary education qualifications required
• Availability for Grade 1/2 Homeroom on Mornings Days 2-5
• Current Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening
• Commitment to equity and inclusion in educational settings
