Support exceptional students as a permanent Educational Assistant at St Joseph Catholic Elementary School in Guelph, working 35 hours weekly.
Under school leadership, this Educational Assistant supports individual students or groups identified by the site-based special education team. The work includes personal, social, academic, and physical development. Collaboration involves the principal, classroom teacher, and special education resource teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist exceptional students with personal and social development
Support academic and physical development goals
Help develop, implement, and report individual education plans
Assist with eating, hygiene, and washroom routines
Support communication, life skills, exercise, and lunch supervision
Requirements:
Experience as an educational assistant with the board
Two years of related post-secondary education
Educational assistant certificate or early childhood educator diploma
Knowledge related to child development or special education
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Bring educational assistance, student support, and special education preparation to St Joseph Catholic Elementary School in Guelph.
