Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Oshawa, Ontario (In-Office)

Salary Range: $70,000 to 85,000
Our client, a leading is hiring manufacturer of custom commercial trailers based in Oshawa, Ontario, is actively looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer. In this role, you will lead the mechanical design and engineering for steel and aluminum products for the aggregate, construction and agricultural industries.
Responsibilities:

Lead mechanical design projects from concept through production

Mentor and train two Mechanical Technologists, fostering technical growth and collaboration

Translate 3D models into precise 2D drawings for manufacturing using AutoCAD and Solid Works.

Collaborate cross-functionally to meet business and production goals

Solve design and production challenges with creativity and confidence

Maintain high standards of accuracy, integrity, and professionalism

Continuously improve design processes and tools

Requirements:

5–15 years of mechanical design experience, ideally in trailer or heavy equipment manufacturing

Proficiency in:

Solid Works (3D modeling)

AutoCAD (2D and 3D)

Nesting software (PRONEST preferred)

Microsoft Office Suite

Strong mathematical and analytical skills

Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
