Projects are Construction for the following;

• Standby Generators Replacement
• Breathing Air, Service Air, Instrument Upgrades
• Electrical Separation for all classes of power (I,II,III, IV) between Pickering A and B
• Feeder Scanner/ Fuel Channel Inspections Modifications and Upgrades
• Moderator Cover Gas Upgrades
• Security Systems Upgrades
• Facilities and Infrastructure Upgrades

Summary of the Role
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the Project from the bid preparation and design phase (includes engineering drawings and calculations, fabrication drawings through the developing of Bills of Material), assisting in Estimating and Purchasing to procure system components and structural hardware, to managing subcontractors to complete system installations and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain direct contact with Customers and/or Contractors/Trades.
• Represent as point of contact with the owner in a professional, businesslike and reasonable manner.
• Understand all aspects of a project budget and deals with the owner on all cost issues.
• Develop overall project schedules and oversees the maintenance, progress, communication of schedules and project reporting requirements.
• Understand fully the project scope boundaries and deals with the owner on all scope issues.
• Ensure the appropriate level of quality assurance is applied to the project with the appropriate resources.
• Ensure the project is adequately and competently resourced for proper control and execution.
• Provide notifications regarding delays and extras in a timely manner.
• Develop or oversees the development of all project requisitions and works with the central purchasing group to obtain all material in accordance with project schedules, best price, and passing through conditions and warranties.
• Recognize and retain productive workforce.
• Recognize and deal with unproductive workforce.
• Understand job costing and tracking reports, i.e. – dollars, hours, schedule, etc.
• Assemble estimates for projects and project extras.
• Develop Cost Estimates and Execute Cost Reduction Strategies
• Ensures the project is executed in a safe manner following the safety policy, ISO 18001 and OSHA requirements.
• Ensure the project environmental aspects are adhered to pursuant to ISO 14001 Environmental requirements of the project.

Key Requirements, Experience and Skills

• Community College Technologist/Technician Diploma.
• Professional Certification in Project Management.
• 10+ years of direct Construction Industry experience. including estimating, scheduling and/or purchasing
• 5 years’ experience as a Project Coordinator.
• Must have strong technical, managerial, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are required.
• CCA Gold Seal Program.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Related Field would be an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects of substantial scope and complexity
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Demonstrated understanding of Project Management Software (MS Project, Primavera etc.)
• Possesses solid negotiating and conflict resolution skills
