The Region of Durham is seeking a Works Technician 2 to support capital and operational programs at the Traffic Operations Centre in Whitby, Ontario. The successful applicant will assist with engineering designs, coordinate with diverse stakeholders, and analyze traffic signal operations. Strong skills in AutoCAD, traffic engineering, and data analysis are crucial for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate detailed designs for traffic control devices

• Conduct site investigations for quality control recommendations

• Coordinate activities with field staff and external partners

• Analyze traffic flow patterns and signal timings

• Develop tenders and oversee data collection initiatives

Requirements:

• Three-year diploma in Civil Engineering Technology

• Minimum two years of related experience

• Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office

• Knowledge of Ontario Traffic Manual and highway regulations

• Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ Driver’s License
