, is looking for a Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team.
Reporting to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager, the Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing the Company Health and Safety policies and programs, ensuring safe working procedures and regulatory compliance on company work sites and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and oversee site safety program through continuous on‑site monitoring during field execution.
- Consult with management and labour to ensure that the highest level of due diligence is maintained.
- Provide counsel and advice to Company management on all health and safety‑related matters.
- Coordinate and attend on‑site health and safety meetings.
- Provide site Health and Safety training, indoctrination, orientation to employees.
- Provide WHMIS training.
- Thoroughly investigate accidents/incidents.
- Generate H&S statistics and provide regular reports in a prescribed format, to the Environmental Health and Safety Manager, Nuclear Services.
- Perform weekly documented site inspections and monthly safety audits.
- Maintain daily/weekly/monthly work activity logbooks.
- Maintain safety records and documents.
- Maintain record of all safety and site information used to provide statistics, charts, reports etc.
- Ensure compliance with OHSA and all other relevant H&S related legislation and regulations.
- Ensure management remains aware of any potential H&S related issues that may negatively impact the business.
- Work with management and employees to develop and implement appropriate return to work and modified work programs.
- Maintain zero tolerance for on‑job safety infractions.
- Ensure responsibilities and accountabilities are conducted in a safe manner in accordance with E.S. Fox Limited safety policy/procedures, ISO standards and OHSA requirements.
- Ensure that environmental aspects within the sphere of responsibility are adhered to pursuant to ISO 14001 requirements.
- Some travel between project sites may be required.
- Ability to work afternoon/night shifts, and weekends, as required.
- Post‑secondary education (Degree in Management or Occupational Health & Safety) is an asset.
- NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) designation preferred.
- CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) or CRST (Canadian Registered Safety Technician) designation optional.
