We are currently looking for a CAD Technician to support our Survey team in Bowmanville for the completion of the SMR-X Project

Location
This role will be based at the Darlington Nuclear Facility
Responsibilities
• Build 2D and 3D models from a variety of information sources
• Assist in preparation of construction work plans, project planning and scheduling
• Review drawings and make changes based on field input from segment Project Managers and Project Engineer
• Optimize grading/ earthworks quantities
• Perform concrete formwork and lift drawings
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs in 3D from the models for estimating purposes and / or to support progress claims during construction
• Work within a team to model alternate scenarios and / or develop step by step construction plans and presentation materials
• Prepare Survey and Machine Control files for construction
• Train other colleagues and field personnel on new technology and mobile applications and estimating work
• Train and mentor younger engineers in estimating work
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications
• A Geomatics, Survey or Engineering degree with experience in the construction industry
• Experienced in CAD programs such as Civil 3D, Microstation Inroads or Trimble Business Center
• Avid user of Excel and ideally experienced in P6 Scheduling, Primavera and Blue Beam
• Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
• Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
• Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
• Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
