In this role, you’ll balance leadership with hands-on financial oversight. Your Responsibilities You’ll lead the Finance department, overseeing accounting, payroll, and reporting functions.
In this role, you’ll prepare financial statements, management reports, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
You’ll safeguard organizational assets and ensure all financial operations comply with Canadian accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
You’ll coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors to maintain transparency and accuracy.
You’ll provide guidance on financial policies and implement recommendations approved by the Board.
You’ll oversee payroll processes, employee records, and compliance with labor agreements and regulations.
Skills and Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a Financial Controller or in a comparable finance leadership role, ideally in higher education or not-for-profit sectors
CPA designation required; bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred
3–5 years in a management role with demonstrated leadership and team development skills
Strong knowledge of Canadian Accounting standards, financial systems, and payroll software
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships across all organizational levels
High attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to excellence
