Position: Policy Advisor for DEI Initiatives
Location: Whitby

Join the Region of Durham as a Policy Advisor specializing in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Implement effective programs to foster equity and inclusion across regional services.

This dedicated role focuses on designing and coordinating DEI policies and initiatives to support a diverse workforce. You’ll work closely with community stakeholders and internal leaders to ensure compliance with relevant regulations while eliminating systemic barriers. Your expertise will also be crucial in developing data-driven reporting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate development of policies for DEI advancement

• Engage diverse communities to foster inclusivity

• Analyze data for reporting and compliance purposes

• Represent the region on external boards to share best practices

• Facilitate events promoting DEI in the community

Requirements:

• Degree in relevant field such as Political Science or Social Justice

• Policy development experience with diverse groups

• Knowledge of public sector legislation and policies

• Advanced skills in data analysis and project planning

• Strong communication and facilitation abilities
