Wellington County is seeking a dedicated full-time Policy Planner to assist in formulating vital planning policies for the County’s Official Plan. You will perform research, collaborate with local municipalities, and ensure compliance with provincial regulations. This role involves providing expert advice during public engagements and presentations to local councils, creating a meaningful impact on community development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Formulate local planning policies for successful implementation
• Collaborate with municipalities on planning issues
• Make presentations to councils and committees
• Conduct research on county-related interests
• Prepare reports on planning applications and evidence at OLT Hearings
Requirements:
• Four-year degree in a recognized planning program
• Minimum three years of policy experience
• Registered Professional Planner designation (RPP) in good standing
• Understanding of the Planning Act and related policies
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
