What We Are Looking ForAbility to work independently in a core lab setting in the disciplines of Specimen Collection and Processing, Hematology, Chemistry and Transfusion Science make you the perfect candidate for this position. The successful candidate enjoys working in a team-orientated environment, and has excellent technical, communication, leadership and customer service skills.
What You Bring ToThe Role
- Member of the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario
- General Certification in Medical Laboratory Technology from the CSMLS
- Highly developed technical skills in a core laboratory setting including phlebotomy skills are assets
- Experience with a Laboratory Information System:
Meditech experience an asset - Proven ability to work independently in a dynamic multi-tasking laboratory
- Familiarity with Ontario Laboratory Accreditation Requirements
- Proficient computer skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work well within a team and take leadership role when called upon
- Strong customer service focus and job commitment
- Demonstrates a positive and professional outlook in a rapidly changing environment
- Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
- Demonstrated commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
This is a job share position. The successful candidate would be required to work shifts Monday to Sunday including weekends and holidays. These will be Days, Evenings, nights and rotating weekends. Please note schedules may change due to operational needs.
