Overview
OPG is looking for a Senior Database Administrator to lead database management initiatives across on-prem and Azure. Focus on security, compliance, and high-performance data services. Located in Oshawa, Ontario. This position requires a 4-year degree in a relevant field and at least 6 years of database administration experience.
Responsibilities- Own the governance process for database platforms, ensuring metrics align with service level agreements.
- Install and configure various database platforms.
- Manage and optimize Azure SQL DB and related services.
- Design and regularly test high availability/disaster recovery measures.
- Conduct maintenance, including updates and compliance checks.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies.
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or a similar field.
- 6+ years in database administration experience.
- Hands-on experience with Azure services.
- Proficient in monitoring and tuning databases.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards.
