Become a key facilitator of communication in classrooms for students with hearing loss at the Durham District School Board as a Supply Interpreter using American Sign Language (ASL). This vital role promotes inclusivity and accessibility in education.

As a Supply Interpreter, your role is to enhance student interaction by interpreting language effectively while collaborating with educators and support teams. You'll ensure students have full access to learning by documenting their progress and advocating for their needs in alignment with IEPs. Your professional integrity and ongoing development will contribute significantly to the student experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide ASL interpretation across various classroom settings

• Collaborate with staff to meet educational goals

• Maintain ethical standards and professional accountability

• Document student experiences and interpretation strategies

• Prepare materials to ensure accessibility for all

Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited interpreter training program

• Minimum 1-2 years of interpreting experience

• 500 hours of documented clinical practice

• Preferred certification in First Aid and CPR

• Submission of a clean Criminal Background Check
