Custodial Operations Supervisor DDSB

Lead custodial operations across Durham District School Board facilities using supervision, scheduling, and maintenance coordination expertise. This permanent afternoon position works 35 hours weekly.

The Custodial Area Supervisor oversees daily custodial services across DDSB facilities and supports safe, functional learning environments. You will lead, train, mentor, and develop custodial staff while collaborating with Maintenance Supervisors, administrators, Health & Safety, and construction teams. The position also supports childcare centres and community facility use.

• Supervise and coordinate daily custodial staff activities
• Manage schedules, staffing coverage, resources, and budget guidelines
• Inspect facilities and coordinate maintenance work orders
• Oversee childcare centre custodial and maintenance services
• Resolve community-use facility and custodial service issues

• Secondary diploma or equivalent education, training, and experience
• Eight to ten years of preferred custodial experience
• Supervisory skills motivating and managing teams effectively
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
