Location: Whitby
Assume a pivotal leadership role as Fire Chief in Whitby, overseeing comprehensive fire and emergency services for our vibrant community. Ensure exceptional service delivery through strategic direction and compliance.
Reporting to the CAO, your primary responsibilities will encompass managing all sections of Whitby Fire & Emergency Services. You'll maintain high standards of public education, fire prevention, and operational readiness while engaging with the community. Your leadership will foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the operations and strategic initiatives of the Fire Department
• Monitor compliance with fire safety legislation and municipal policies
• Oversee staff training and comprehensive emergency management
• Deliver superior service and outreach programs to residents
• Act as Chief Official concerning fire safety codes
Requirements:
• Relevant degree/diploma in Fire Services or related discipline
• Minimum of 12 years in fire service with 5 in senior roles
• Graduate of Ontario Fire College with required certifications
• Advanced skills in firefighting, training, and prevention
• Proven leadership experience in unionized settings
