Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
Perform preventative maintenance and emergency repairsProvide efficient production equipment set up, inspection and shutdown of all related equipment when required, including process changeoversFabricate and make repairs using a variety of standard shop toolsAbility to weld stainless steel (TIG and arc welding)Operate all power truck equipment, such as forklift and counterbalance; reach trucks and walkie/riderComplete required documentation accurately and neatlyPerform duties in accordance with all regulatory bodiesAdhere to all Food Safety, Health & Safety, HACCP, WHMIS and good manufacturing practices guidelines and applicable statutes and proceduresOther responsibilities as assignedWhat You’ll Bring:
Must hold a valid and current Certificate for an Industrial Mechanic/MillwrightExperience with computers, paperwork accuracy, and SAPGood communication skills, able to speak and read EnglishPhysically fit to perform required tasks including heavy lifting greater than 25 kgsAbility to follow directions and work as a team playerMust be willing and flexible to work shifts as scheduledAble to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasksAble to work in a variable temperature environmentAble to stand and walk throughout the shiftHighly motivated and able to work well with minimal supervisionSense of urgency, attention to detail and ownership in quality of workPunctual, reliable and responsibleMust have a complete complement of toolsExperience working in a food manufacturing environment considered an assetWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:
