Position Summary
The Labourer / Framer is responsible for operating multiple pieces of equipment inside and outside the building as well as performing a variety of tasks related to the manufacturing of pressure‑treated Hydro Poles.
Responsibilities & Requirements
Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner (Chain Saw, Wizard, Tape Measure, Drills)
Ensure products manufactured are of the required quality
Roll, Wizzer, chain saw, measure and tag poles
Label parts & products clearly and accurately
Work in compliance with all company rules and regulations
Follow all company Health & Safety policies and SOPs
Wear all PPE required and work in a safe manner
Participate in all company mandated training in good faith
Come to work prepared (both mentally and materially) to work in a variety of environments
Complete appropriate forms legibly and clearly
Work cooperatively with a team to achieve production targets
Maintain good housekeeping in all assigned areas
Abide by OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) workplace health and safety standards
Report all Health & Safety issues immediately
Performs other duties as assigned
Core Competencies
Stand for significant periods of time (7 hours or more)
Be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted
Able to work outside in all elements
Good manual dexterity, hand‑eye coordination
Comfortable completing repetitive tasks
Attention to detail
Basic trouble‑shooting skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to:
Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos & schedules
Write simple correspondence
Work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments
Basic math skills
Licenses / Certifications
Forklift License (an asset)
