What You’ll Do
Handle high pressure, flammable, corrosive and toxic gases as well as liquid chemicals in a safe manner.
Select appropriate cylinders to complete all pre‑fill and post‑fill inspections to meet CGA/CSA and internal standards according to demand.
Accurately and safely fill cylinders using appropriate methods, according to the production requirements and meeting company standards.
Inspect filling manifolds and pumps before use, completing daily parameter checklists and data logs.
Fill multiple cylinder mixtures safely and at the same time to maximize efficiency.
Empty residual cylinders safely and prepare for new mixtures for cylinder retesting.
Complete all paperwork and records accurately and in a timely manner.
Assist in plant maintenance programs and perform maintenance of job‑related equipment.
Report to management any abnormalities or hazardous conditions.
Follow company PPE policies at all times.
Follow company’s safety policies at all times. Proficient ability to use mathematical procedures, including simple statistical analyses and error propagation.
Follow 5S practices at their workstations and ensure high standards of safety and quality.
Other duties as assigned / needed according to the experience and education.
Required Education & Skills
Post secondary education is required – Minimum 3‑year college/university degree.
Science field preferable (i.e.: Technologist diploma, chemical or mechanical).
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry is an asset.
Skills and Attributes
High degree of safety consciousness.
Familiarity with cylinder handling is considered an asset.
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Technologist diploma, or equivalent post‑secondary education preferred.
Mechanical aptitude, including ability to comprehend technical manuals and procedures.
Proficient in the use of a calculator and mathematical procedures.
Basic computer knowledge is required, including MS Office suite software.
Awareness of CGA and CSA standards.
Ability to work independently.
Capacity to effectively plan work and handle changing priorities.
Willingness to learn.
SAP experience is an asset.
