Community Services Coordinator at Salvation Army

Location: Whitby

Lead transformative programming as a Community Services Program Coordinator with The Salvation Army in Whitby. Focus on relational support for individuals and families through engaging community initiatives and spiritual outreach.

In this full-time role, you will provide leadership for holistic programming within the Whitby Community Church and Community Services. Collaborating closely with other staff, your focus on social, emotional, and spiritual needs ensures the success of various outreach programs, including Anger Management and Life Skills classes. Drive positive change in your community through innovative planning and volunteer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement creative community programs and events

• Conduct assessments to identify client needs and support

• Share spiritual support through conversation and prayer

• Train and orient volunteers for program success

• Maintain program documentation and ensure confidentiality

Requirements:

• Diploma in human services or related field required

• 3 years of experience in social services programs

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to handle diverse community interactions

• Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license necessary
