QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
The successful incumbent will meet the requirements of the position description for Registered Nurse Emergency and act as a contributing team member with specific responsibility for performance of professional nursing care to a patient or group of patients as assigned.
Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered NurseCoronary Care 1Current Basic Life Support (BLS)Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or commitment to obtain within 12 monthsCurrent Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or commitment to obtain within 18 monthsCurrent Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) or commitment to obtain certification within 2 yearsCurrent Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training or commitment to obtain within 6 monthsCritical Care or Emergency Room Certification or commitment to obtain certification within 2 yearsOHA Triage Training if qualified; or commitment to complete Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) certification when requestedTrauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) preferredEmergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) Certification preferredCanadian Nurses Association (CNA):
Emergency Nursing Certification (ENC) preferredExperience caring for Mental Health Patients preferredDemonstrated ability to interpret cardiac rhythm strips (tested prior to movement to cardiac monitored area)Demonstrated commitment to interprofessional practice standardsDemonstrates a professional and respectful attitude to patients, public, volunteers and colleagues and fosters good public relations and effective and positive working relationships promoting collective problem solving and conflict resolution approachesProven good attendance with capability of maintaining this same standardPHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORKING CONDITIONS
