This posting is intended to build a pool of qualified candidates for future nursing opportunities. While there may not be an immediate vacancy, applications will be reviewed and considered as positions become available.
Responsibilities Provide care to unconscious patients in the operating room.
Maintain a sterile environment and care for and maintain specialized instruments.
Use the nursing process to provide patient care.
Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary health‑care team.
Maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice.
Maintain nursing records—electronic and manual.
Perform other related duties as assigned in the scrub and circulating role within many specialized services within an operating room.
Qualifications Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
Current Bachelor of Clinical Laboratory Sciences (B.C.L.S.).
Demonstrated commitment to maintain Reflective Practice Standards as outlined by the CNO.
Significant recent experience in the operating room and successful completion of the Certified Operating Post Graduate Course.
Proven organizational, interpersonal, problem‑solving, and teaching skills.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete assignments in a reasonable timeframe.
Proven ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations.
Proven ability to lift, turn, and transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids.
Demonstrated ability to assume a leadership/supervisory role.
Proven knowledge of care and maintenance of specialized OR equipment.
Preferred: CNA Perioperative Nursing Certification.

Knowledge of invasive monitoring.

Evidence of ongoing education.
Preferred:
B.Sc.N. degree.
Must have a satisfactory performance record.
