Position Summary:
The Manager is responsible for facilitating day to day operations for patient care related activities within the Emergency Department y daily direction to all unit personnel to provide high quality, safe, evidence-based care in partnership with the patient and families and in keeping with the vision, mission and values of GGH. In collaboration with the Director, they implement initiatives that align with departmental and strategic goals and objectives of the organization.
The Manager, in collaboration with the Director, ensures they provide an environment that supports and advances professional practice and leads clinical staff in implementing evidence-based practices that are sensitive to limited resources within a patient centred care philosophy. They serve as role model for professional and organizational core competencies and support quality patient-care outcomes.

Qualifications, Experience,
Skills and Abilities:
Registered Nurse with current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
BScN required, Master’s degree in a health related field preferred
Membership in relevant professional organization(s)
Minimum of 5 years of relevant clinical experience.
Demonstrated leadership skills and responsibilities, with 2 years formal management experience
Experience with guiding staff experiencing performance and/or attendance problems
Experience with Lean process improvement methodologies
Demonstrated leadership skills and responsibilities.
Demonstrate leadership with respect to enhancing patient and staff safety.
Experience with Lean process improvement methodologies.
Demonstrated excellence interpersonal communication, coaching, mentoring and team building skills.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate positive interactions among all members of the health care team.
