Join Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences as a full-time Registered Practical Nurse. Provide specialized care for patients with complex mental illnesses in a supportive team environment.
This RPN role focuses on geriatric patients within a 20-bed inpatient unit aimed at dementia-related behaviors. You will implement a recovery-focused model that emphasizes compassion and community reintegration. Collaboration with an interprofessional team is essential to ensure effective patient stability and care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide specialized nursing care to geriatric patients
• Utilize recovery-focused models in patient treatment
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team effectively
• Assess and document patient care and medication needs
• Model and implement the recovery philosophy in care
Requirements:
• Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• CPR-Health Care Provider certification
• Prior experience in psychiatric nursing or long-term care
• Knowledge of CNO standards and psychiatric health policies
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
