Shape long-term care nursing through resident-focused programs, regulatory knowledge, and leadership for a responsive, respectful care team.
As Director of Care – Administrative, you provide direction across resident care and act in charge when the Executive Director is absent. You collaborate with the nursing team on policies, procedures, and clinical programs. The position monitors services, supports safe workplaces, and administers strategic nursing plans.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop resident-focused programs, policies, and nursing procedures
- Ensure clinical programs meet legislative requirements
- Review complaints, incidents, inspections, and critical reports
- Promote resident rights, safety, and individualized services
- Participate in required on-call rotation and response
- Registered Nurse registration authorizing independent Ontario practice
- Long-term care legislation and nursing practice knowledge
- Three years’ managerial or supervisory healthcare experience
- Commitment to seniors, dementia care, and positive moments
- Required vaccines, screening, TB testing, and references
