Licensed Optician – Oshawa, ON – Lens Crafters
Deliver the brand value proposition, provide exceptional customer service, and create high‑quality eyewear that meets and exceeds customer expectations.
Major
Duties & Responsibilities
Welcome all customers and set expectations.
Custom‑fit glasses and precisely place prescriptions in lenses.
Act as a leader in optical acumen.
Take and record measurements, accurately adjust and fit eyewear with attention to detail, ensuring finished eyewear meets standards and customer needs.
Assist the team with complex product needs and prescriptions.
Use technology accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume, demonstrating exceptional product knowledge and using appropriate tools.
Proactively explore root causes of issues, demonstrate forward‑thinking, and ensure customers are satisfied and expectations are exceeded.
Multitask, prioritize, and manage time with competing priorities.
Strive to achieve exceptional results on brand KPIs and competencies.
Take pride in store appearance, keeping the store clean, attractive, and organized.
Inform management of safety opportunities and demonstrate safe work practices.
Be resourceful and self‑motivated, continually learning, improving, and driving results.
Adhere to company policies and procedures, including discounts, promotions, and inventory management.
Basic Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
State licensure.
Optical dispensing experience.
Strong customer service skills: communicator, listener, and team builder.
Knowledge of current store merchandise.
Strong basic math skills.
Awareness of current fashion trends.
Sales skills – ability to use and carry an iPad or tablet.
Familiarity with POS, computers, and calculators.
Embrace new technology and change.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with advanced optical technologies.
Prior management or leadership experience in a retail environment.
Knowledge of prescription lens and rim combinations.
Pay Range
Benefits
Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. Additional compensation may include a competitive bonus and/or commission plan. Benefits may include health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and various employee discounts.
