Location: Port Perry
Become a Community Wellness Coordinator for the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation and enhance mental health support initiatives. Focus on client-centered care and community connection.
This role emphasizes the integration of Indigenous practices within mental health services. You will provide individual and group counselling, conduct assessments, and coordinate care plans to facilitate long-term stability and healing for community members. Building partnerships with local service providers is vital for effective community engagement and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individualized counselling and support services
• Establish collaborative relationships with community organizations
• Conduct assessments to identify needs and strengths
• Facilitate referrals and advocate for client needs
• Support addiction intervention and create prevention programs
Requirements:
• Required College Diploma in Social Services
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
• In-depth understanding of Indigenous teaching and values
• Strong reporting and administrative skills required
• Valid driver's license along with liability insurance
