Medical Assistant or LPN – Urology Clinic
Aurora Health Care is hiring a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse for our urology clinic. Join our team and help patients live well.
Base Pay Range$23.65/hr – $35.50/hr
Responsibilities- Prepare and room patients for exams by obtaining vital signs, gathering health information, and documenting relevant details.
- Monitor and complete clinical integration/quality improvement measures, notifying clinicians of opportunities within scope.
- Perform laboratory procedures (e.g., strep test, wound culture, specimen collection) using aseptic technique and infection control guidelines.
- Assist physicians or advanced practice clinicians with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch tests, EMG, cautery, colposcopy, etc.
- Administer routine medications under physician or APC orders, including immunizations, antibiotics, vitamins, and topical agents.
- Coordinate procedures, tests, and referrals, following care algorithms and responding to patient questions appropriately.
- Communicate with the clinical team to ensure smooth clinic flow, providing accurate and timely information to patients.
- Perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks (e.g., removal of sutures, phlebotomy, EKG, spirometry, Holter monitor application) under clinical supervision.
- Demonstrate knowledge of patient age‑specific care, growth and development principles, and apply department policies and procedures.
LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse (state license required)
- Active state license in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required within 45 days of hire unless otherwise determined.
Medical Assistant: GED or high‑school equivalency diploma
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, or 2 years of verifiable full‑time experience within the last 5 years.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the AHA required within 45 days of hire unless otherwise determined.
LPN: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing.
Medical Assistant: GED or high‑school equivalency diploma.
Growth and Compensation- Position eligible for a sign‑on bonus paid on the first or second paycheck following 90 days of employment (qualified external candidates only).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Performance of routine and complex medical assistant or LPN technical skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills.
- Proficient computer use, including keyboarding, navigation in Windows OS, and electronic medical records systems.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and perform movements including bending, twisting, and kneeling for the entire workday.
- Lift up to 35 pounds unaided; use assistive equipment for heavier patient handling when needed.
- Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with fine‑hand manipulation ability.
- Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and blood‑borne hazards; required protective clothing and equipment used as appropriate.
- Operate all equipment necessary to perform the job safely and effectively.
