Behavior Technician
Join Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP) — part of LEARN Behavioral.
Gain rewarding experience helping children with autism learn, grow, and build communication, socialization, and self-help skills through play‑based therapy (Applied Behavior Analysis, ABA).
Responsibilities- Work with children 18 months‑to‑6 years old with autism in their homes or at one of our centers.
- Implement ABA treatment plans and support children to build communication, socialization, and self‑help skills.
- Engage in regular data collection and reporting as directed.
- Maintain a safe, supportive environment – sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, run, and, as needed, push, pull, or lift up to 35 pounds.
- Attend required training and supervision sessions each week.
- Full‑time employees earn up to 15 days of paid time off (PTO) after 90 days of employment.
- Part‑time employees are eligible for sick leave.
- Potential promotion within as little as three months with continued professional development.
- Competitive starting pay at $16 per hour, up with ABA experience/training.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Daily reliable transportation.
- Availability for a consistent schedule Monday‑Friday and weekends between 7 am‑8 pm CST.
- Background check clearance.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
- Bi‑lingual with English/Spanish fluency.
- Studied, majored, or minored in psychology, education, special education, childcare, behavioral health, or related field.
- Experience caring for children (babysitter, nanny, tutor, teacher, coach, camp counselor, etc.).
- Training or interest in behavior analysis, occupational therapy, speech‑language pathology, counseling, mental health, or parenting support.
- Capacity to sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk and run; engage in push, pull, and lift up to 35 pounds.
