• Utilizes advanced knowledge and skills to provide nursing and selected medical procedures for neonates and infants.
• Communicates and collaborates with appropriate members of the health care team, including patient families.
• Works to improve the quality of care provided to neonates.
• Advances the care of neonates through participation in and application of the research process, sharing knowledge with the interdisciplinary team as related to the specialty area.
• Ensures the continuous quality of professional services by maintaining updated knowledge and skills.
• Maintains current and valid licensure with the State Board of Nursing to provide continuous nursing services and prevent the spread of blood borne and/or airborne disease(s).

• Advanced clinical assessment skills for neonates.
• Ability to make sound and timely decisions.
• Ability to cooperate and work well with others.
• Physical capability: standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, dexterity, speaking, hearing, seeing and lifting up to 20 lbs.; carrying and pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs.; severe tasks up to 100 lbs.; work in a highly stressful, noisy, clean, well‑lit environment with potential exposure to airborne/blood‑borne pathogens.
