Senior HR Generalist

Full Time JOR-MAC Oshkosh Oshkosh, WI, US

Salary Range: $70,000.00 To $80,000.00 Annually

Position Summary

The Senior Human Resources Generalist serves as the primary day-to-day HR resource for our Oshkosh facility and works closely with employees, supervisors, and leaders to provide practical, consistent, and employee-focused HR support.

This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who is approachable, positive, confident, and solutions-oriented. The Senior HR Generalist will independently manage routine employee relations matters, coach leaders through workplace concerns, support recruiting and onboarding, administer HR programs and policies, and help ensure consistent application of company practices.

The successful candidate will be comfortable making recommendations and bringing forward solutions—not simply identifying problems—while recognizing when a matter should be escalated to HR leadership. This position works closely with the VP of Human Resources and other members of the HR team and will have ongoing support when navigating complex or higher-risk situations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and leaders at the Oshkosh facility.
  • Build positive, credible relationships with employees, supervisors, and management while maintaining appropriate confidentiality and professional judgment.
  • Respond to employee questions and concerns and work toward timely, practical resolutions.
  • Coach supervisors and managers on employee relations, performance management, attendance, workplace conduct, and application of company policies.
  • Review employee relations situations, gather relevant facts, recommend appropriate next steps, and elevate complex or high-risk matters when appropriate.
  • Support corrective action and performance management processes, including documentation and preparation for employee conversations.
  • Promote consistent application of company policies, practices, and employment decisions.
  • Partner with leadership to identify solutions that balance employee needs, company policy, operational requirements, and business objectives.
  • Support investigations into employee complaints and workplace concerns.
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation activities and help ensure new employees have a positive and effective start.
  • Support employee retention efforts, new-hire follow-up, and identification of workplace trends affecting turnover or engagement.
  • Assist employees and leaders with leave-of-absence processes, including FMLA and other company leave programs, in coordination with HR leadership and benefit administrators.
  • Support benefit, payroll, timekeeping, and HRIS questions and coordinate resolution with appropriate internal or external resources.
  • Maintain accurate employee documentation and HR records.
  • Support employment changes including transfers, promotions, compensation changes, and separations.
  • Participate in workforce planning, staffing reviews, and other HR initiatives supporting the Oshkosh operation.
  • Monitor employee relations, attendance, turnover, recruiting, and other workforce trends and proactively identify areas requiring attention.
  • Assist with HR training and communication for supervisors and employees.
  • Support company culture, employee engagement, recognition, and other HR programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Perform other HR-related responsibilities and projects as assigned.
