PositionThe Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Limited Term (LTE)
Plumber position. This position is based out of Oshkosh Correctional Institution in Oshkosh, WI (Winnebago County).
This position performs duties as a skilled Plumber at Oshkosh Correctional Institution (OSCI), utilizing the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the Plumbing Trades.
Responsibilities include inspecting, repairing, and maintaining all plumbing and related mechanical operations, including heating, ventilating, and the distribution systems, in accordance with the provisions of plumbing codes, pertinent plans, and specifications or work orders.
This position will sometimes work within a wide range of temperatures (extreme hot and cold), in dusty, dirty, or confined areas or areas that may be quite noisy. This position will also work within close physical proximity to Persons in Our Care (PIOC) and other staff members. This position may work in other areas of the institution during lock-down situations.
Hours, Pay, and StatusThis position is not eligible for remote work and will work on site. The work hours will vary significantly and specifics can be discussed at the time of interview. This is a Non-Exempt (overtime eligible) LTE position. LTEs must be residents of the State of Wisconsin.
Base pay range
: $46.72/hr - $57.09/hr pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must possess current unrestricted Wisconsin licensure as a Master Plumber and maintain licensure during employment. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and be able to maintain it during employment. This position has physical requirements related to performing the job duties, including moving and lifting to perform inspections and tasks, climbing ladders and stairs.
