Position Title: Admissions Office Graduate Assistant

Department: Admissions Office

Position Requirements and Preferences:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Experience:
    • Background in administrative work
  • Abilities:
    • Independent decision making and good judgment;
    • Good written and oral communication skills;
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines;
    • Organizational, time management, relationship building, and communication skills.

Position Summary:
WPU aims to foster a vibrant learning community. Graduate Assistants will exemplify leadership, employ relevant technologies, and embody the Quaker virtues of simplicity, peace-making, integrity, community, and equality.

Responsibilities:

  • Work at least 30 hours per week.
  • Collaborate with admissions counselors, faculty, and coaches to ensure positive campus visits for prospective students.
  • Create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
  • Coordinate campus visit days for prospective students, including special programs like Nursing Day or Football Recruitment Day.
  • Maintain and update student records in the database.
  • Monitor promotional materials inventory and suggest reordering as needed.
  • Represent the University positively to prospective, current, and former students, staff, and the community.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm, self-motivation, and professionalism.
  • Work harmoniously with others.
  • Arrange on-campus accommodations for prospective students.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students.
  • Assist with equipment inventory and assessment.
  • Conduct oneself professionally at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Director of Admissions

Supervises: Assigned Work-Study Employees

Evaluation: Performance assessed by the Director of Admissions.
