Position Title: Admissions Office Graduate Assistant
Department: Admissions Office
Position Requirements and Preferences:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Experience:
- Background in administrative work
- Abilities:
- Independent decision making and good judgment;
- Good written and oral communication skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines;
- Organizational, time management, relationship building, and communication skills.
Position Summary:
WPU aims to foster a vibrant learning community. Graduate Assistants will exemplify leadership, employ relevant technologies, and embody the Quaker virtues of simplicity, peace-making, integrity, community, and equality.
Responsibilities:
- Work at least 30 hours per week.
- Collaborate with admissions counselors, faculty, and coaches to ensure positive campus visits for prospective students.
- Create a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
- Coordinate campus visit days for prospective students, including special programs like Nursing Day or Football Recruitment Day.
- Maintain and update student records in the database.
- Monitor promotional materials inventory and suggest reordering as needed.
- Represent the University positively to prospective, current, and former students, staff, and the community.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, self-motivation, and professionalism.
- Work harmoniously with others.
- Arrange on-campus accommodations for prospective students.
- Serve as a positive role model for students.
- Assist with equipment inventory and assessment.
- Conduct oneself professionally at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Reports to: Director of Admissions
Supervises: Assigned Work-Study Employees
Evaluation: Performance assessed by the Director of Admissions.
