Join to apply for the Resource Registered Nurse role at Mahaska Health.
This position involves delivering patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the Inpatient Services/Critical Care Unit, Birthing Center, and Emergency Services. The nurse coordinates patient education and interdisciplinary activities while maintaining professional standards.
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000
Hours:
- Part-time: 7:00 pm - 7:00 am
- Full-time: 7:00 pm - 7:00 am
- Full-time Weekend Package: 7:00 pm - 7:00 am (35% increase)
Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to:
- Assisting in all nursing departments as needed.
- Working across multiple departments or units per shift.
- Serving as a clinical resource and providing skilled nursing care.
- Assessing and documenting patient conditions comprehensively.
- Establishing treatment priorities and implementing interdisciplinary care plans.
- Utilizing resources effectively and consulting with physicians and team members.
- Providing ongoing patient reassessment and documentation.
- Administering medications and IV therapy safely.
- Providing patient and family education tailored to their understanding.
- Managing workload efficiently to ensure timely care.
- Communicating patient status to team members promptly.
- Ensuring proper discharge planning and documentation.
- Mentoring new personnel and managing resources responsibly.
- Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to policies.
- Performing physical demands of the role and maintaining regular attendance.
Birthing Center Specific:
- Recognizing abnormal labor and taking appropriate action.
- Performing vaginal exams, calling physicians for delivery, and interpreting fetal monitor tracings.
Requirements include but are not limited to:
- Current RN license in Iowa.
- Training in Inpatient, Critical Care, Birthing, and Emergency Departments.
- Certification in ACLS and PALS within one year of hire.
- Proof of Mandatory Reporter training at hire or within 6 months.
- Current BLS certification.
- Compliance with all licensure and regulatory standards.
- Participation in ongoing training and compliance programs.
