MCG Networking Install Technician

Mahaska Communications Group (MCG) is hiring a Networking Technician to provide customers with installation and training for all systems related to MCG Professional Services. MCG offers internet and phone services to several communities in southern Iowa. In addition, MCG provides security systems such as CCTV cameras, locks, key card readers, and other access control systems. • Installation and configuration of security systems such as CCTV cameras, locks, key card readers, and other access control systems.
• Installation and configuration of network components such as VoIP systems, switches, routers, servers, wireless access points, etc.
• Plan routes and install cabling such as Cat-5e, Cat6, Coax, and Fiber.
• Troubleshooting, testing, and repair of installed systems.
• Train customers in the use of installed equipment and services.
• Other duties as assigned

• Knowledge of basic computing and networking.
• Knowledge of camera systems, security systems, overhead paging systems.
• Knowledge of basic home construction and wiring is a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a SAFE work environment.
• Ability to work with non-technical team members and customers.
• Ability to follow established standards on work quality and safety.
• Self-motivated and ability to work well with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work occasionally at heights up to 40’.
• Valid Driver’s License – driving to and from work site required.
• Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.

• Formal education or experience in Telecommunication is preferred but not required.
